Pete Clark is coming from a tradition of polytheism and arguably animism. He says that the universe is completely alive, not so much that everything has a soul but maybe there's a little hint of that. But definitely I would say he was a polytheist. And you do see a lot of that in his work - this notion of a release of an energy which had been repressed.
