Keating's Banana Republic Statement

Keating's policies were effective in his time, but they've obviously plagued the Australian political discourse in decades since. Can you just talk about the origins of those narratives, why he constructed them? Yeah. His concern was that having taken big steps to open the economy up and really the steps that had been taken on that stage were to float the currency. And to abolish capital controls so to allow capital to flow into the economy and then, and of course, to flow out of the economy.
