What Is the First Commandment of Jews?

The first known written reference we have to the existence of a collection of people called jews is the mernepta stella, which was found in egypt. A covenant meaning a contract establishing a special relationship between this particular people and their god. And these various practices that mark and shape jews as a distinct people have, over time, been attached to a corps idea of a covenant. So i'm going to try to talk a little bit about what we know, based on archaeology and our best historical guesses, of where this collective of people call jews came on.
