The Role of Software in Warfare
The primes are very good at managing complex contracts and customer relationships. They tend to like farm that out to subcontractors and factor many of these startups. And so by allowing the startups to go direct, it's really a much stronger pathway for the startups. A team of 10 people that's building a pure software company can do much faster innovation than say a team that's at one of these large primes.
