If a player is an offensive star and he has defensive talent around him, then he's the one carrying his team mates. This makes some sense because it goes back to having a harder time measuring defensive value looking for it. But if you have offensive talent around you, then we kind of either acknowledge a player has help, or sometimes it becomes becomes a pajortive where we say, oh, yo, his team is stacked.
