The History of the Tuan Man in Yin Nan

The Tuan Man were a tribe of particular consequence in Yin Nan. Thanks to their alliance with the Shu Han kingdom they rose to become the next power there. They remained in power for the period of the northern and southern dynasties maintaining relations with Jin, Liu Song, southern Qi and northern Zhou. But just as the Sui government was attempting to gather everything up in Yin Nan and incorporate that into their empire they were overthrown in 618. These various tribes in Yin Nan who made up the Tuan Man following their defeat at the hands of the Sui army were split up into two groups called the Bai Man and the Wu Man, the white and black man.
