Shared Purpose
If you're just trying to be top down and share gated resources with a selective of people who have paid for it, that doesn't need to be a community at all. So yes, I agree that that purpose needs to be rooted in the needs of the people that you're pulling into this space. But ultimately you have to have your finger on that pulse and say this is what I'm seeing. This is what we're going to do here.
