The Common Factors That Lead to Positive Outcomes
The common factors are necessary but not sufficient. It depends on the diagnosis. If I want to do exposure and response prevention for my OCD patient and I don't have a decent relationship, I might as well be talking to myself. Common factors really are number one, who are you and why should I trust you? Because making this person feel safe and accepted is key.
