Are You a Science Fiction Writer?

I love when science fiction and genre books go into topics that we are dealing with. And you do this really beautifully, I think in this book. Do you think that dealing with timely issues is part of the job description for a science fiction writer? "It may not be the job, but I think it's important to be self-conscious about it"
