I was so expertly manipulated by that film like the closing dramatic question of you know will he save his wife or will he save the actual pragmatic mother for his daughter is that dramatized choice that made me cry and swell and well up with tears. I just feel like we're so much more story and cinema literate as an audience so these things keep having to speed up because we are processing story so much faster. To have these moments that stick out you've got to actually do a bit of work to stop to reorient the audience and go actually no just sit for a moment.
