The Parallels and Differences Between China's Current Situation and the One That Japan Faced 30 Years Ago

Japan could not rely on additional exports because it was already running such a large trade surplus. If China tries to bring exchange rates down and try to export its way out, I'm sure a lot of countries will be complaining. There's something the Chinese can do in that export side especially they're coming up with new products. Still overall, I don't think it's a good idea for China to rely too much on exports as that could produce backlash in cold trade friction.
