Inflammatory Responses During Sepsis

The inflammatory process causes vasodilation. So it opens up our blood vessels really wide so that the inflammatory stuff can get to where it's trying to go. This inflammation also causes damage to the blood vessel walls and inflammatory changes to the layers of our blood vessel walls. But what this ends up leading to is leaky blood vessels, edema of the tissues, fluid getting out to where it doesn't belong.
