Do You Think That More People Should Be Reading Great Books?
i think we can be expansive about how we categorize a great book. But i really a lot of texts are difficult, and they need to be opened up for a student by a teacher. I had no idea what to make of plato's republic or aristotle's politics until i taught them,. you know, six, seven, eight, nine times. So these books are really difficult. While this is actually a necessarily elete pursuit, i suppose i want to say yes and yes, it's a research intensive undertaking. Am, it's basically a luxury activity. And my view is that we need to be really inclusive with respect to the people who are able to access these opportunities
