Edgar La Plantaine's Story
Edgar La Plantaine grew up in a blue collar French Canadian family in Central Falls, Rhode Island at the turn of the 20th century. His father originally from Quebec was a carpenter and expected his oldest son to pursue a similarly honest living. But Edgar didn't want to live in his father's shadow so he started scamming people when he was just 14 years old.
