Affirmative Action Is Over or Is It?
The Supreme Court considered two cases on affirmative action this week. Plaintiffs argue that because the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause bars racial discrimination by government entities, a public university can't use race as a factor in admissions. The Harvard case was devised partly as a response to Fisher v Austin, which was the 2016 decision in which the Supreme Court upheld affirmative action for the third time in many years. And folks, there is no greater injustice than having to attend your safety school.
