Why We Must Stand Up for Democracy Across Borders

If you’re worried about what’s happening in the U.S., and where it will end, that’s very understandable. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better. But beyond the shock there’s work to be done right now to make sure things do - one day - get better. Our new sub-series, Sovereignty Saturdays looks at the environmental and energy dimensions of Canadian sovereignty and what you can do to help.

• Reach out to contacts in the U.S. who are concerned about democracy and ask how to help.
• Set up networks and redundancies for communication.
• Our sister organization, is taking part in more No Kings protests on Oct. 18th.
• Resist the exportation of authoritarianism to Canada: Like Nova Scotia's new law to remove Mi’kmaw land protectors. There's also the issue of 51st-statism in Alberta: it's important to reach out to your contacts in oil and gas reliant regions of Canada.
