Quantum theory shows that the foundational elements of matter are totally mysterious between measurements and only enter space and time once we measure or collapse them. So if you're trying to build a mechanical world view out of that, you've got real problems. Can I make something that's in living? It does, yes, and interactive. Every particle in the universe is entangled with every other particles in the universe. And there's no theory, or reason why electrons in the Andromeda galaxy are not instantaneously connected to us by quantum entanglement.
