The Grant Critique Is Anachronistic
I think McLuhan fits within this tradition of Canadian idealism that includes like George Grant and McPherson, Charles Taylor. But in some ways, the grant critique may be anachronistic at this point because we could be just leading right into a world of mass diversification around culture. People will form sort of epistemic communities and not have to watch American reality TV because it's the only thing that's on.
