The Axeman Scenario

Anna Harriet Lowe was attacked by a man of mixed race in 1918. Bessemer asked the police if he could investigate his own case regarding the attack. This combined with Anna's strange story and Bessemer's reluctance to call the police eventually led police to believe that there was actually a domestic dispute at the heart of this second incident.
