Synaptic Pruning in Human Adolescence

The environment can shape what's happening inside the brain. The metaphor of pruning suggests that this is sort of an active process rather than like a synaptic withering or something. These are all open questions that haven't really been answered yet it's difficult to look at those kinds of questions we think generally because of this huge development particularly in the synapses and myelination in the brain during adolescence.
