The Mystery of Predestination
St. Paul makes a major claim when he says in verse 16 He says so it depends not upon man's will or exertion but upon god's mercy. We are saved by grace through faith working itself out in love That's the kind of the catholic formulation. It's a completely free gift through faith which is our response to that completely free gift as st Paul says here Professor, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is lord and believe in your heart that god raised him from the dead You will be saved.
