How Dyslexia Can Affect Learning and Behavior

Dyslexia has been a parent led movement in many ways because the parents have been desperate so they've had a reason to find this information. There's now sort of just such an accumulation of evidence from cognitive science science and other research that shows very clearly how skilled reading works for kids who are struggling. I think once educators realize that there's this huge scientific evidence they haven't really been consulting it when trying to figure out what to do about this problem then many of them want to do something about it. A whole lot of these approaches to teaching reading or curriculum materials are teaching educators wrong things about the way reading works, he says.
