Using Bitcoin to Buy Pizzas

Bitcoin is managed on a decentralized non-government technology called a blockchain. The first Bitcoin transaction was in 2009, when two pizzas were bought for 10,000 bitcoins. It never really achieved widespread and universal acceptance as a currency. By 2013 it had managed to attract an abundance of criminals. A website known as Silk Road, which sold narcotics, porn, guns, and pretty much anything you couldn't buy legitimately did accept Bitcoin payment. In 2013, the FBI closed it down.
