The Twelve Tone Technique

Most Western music is based on an eighth note scale, Dovin'i fast solo atido. Schoenberg's great innovation was the creation and popularisation of the 12-tone technique. His Mardis would use all twelve of the notes the exact same number of times. This was a radical new idea, but he had only started advancing it after first winning greater claim for earlier pieces.
