After the second guilty verdict, amanda was once again in limbo. Authorities took raphaeli's passport to keep him from fleeing the country. Amanda told the metea that she would not willingly go back to italy to serve her sentence. So the case was appealed to italy's supreme court and looked at by a panel of judges. The stakes could not have been higher.
