The Economics of Socialism
The goal of de-commodification is to move certain human needs or functions out of the market system and into a system in which they are publicly provided for. A good example of a system that has been de-commodified in much of the world, or not all of the World, is the water system. There's a lot of great work on market socialism out there now. But socialism to me is fundamentally about the idea that certain public goods should be severed from the market system.
