How to Prioritize Submissions With an Agent

On a busy week something just happens, you get a few every day. I read my submissions in the order in which they commit. If there's heat on something and I think I might lose it then sure I'll bump it to the top. Over time you learn when to separate genuine heat from an agent following off. Sometimes the squeaky wheel does get the grease if an agent continues to say I haven't heard from you,. Or sometimes different editors from different imprints but the same publishing house can receive the same submission.
