Is Community Design a Better Connection to Utility?
I feel like community design has a better connection to authentic urgency. When it's done in the most natural expression, the urgency is about who's harm and what do they need right now? Period. I think that a lot of our language really comes from a desire to abstract to make people comfortable which really is about serving capitalism. Community design requires an understanding that discomfort is part of how change happens.
