Dysphagia: A Life Question of All of You
When I hear difficulty swallowing, I immediately think dysphagia. So it's always good to ask the patient, hey, do you have pain with swallowing? If not, then great. And for this patient, the description that we get is very concerning for orophagia dysphagia - a feeling of food getting stuck in the chest. In oropharyngeal dysphagia, sometimes patients endorse drooling, extended chewing after swallowing or just kind of wet voice or wet cough.
