Is Perceived Effort a Good Thing?

Pacing is the art of finding your limit, and that's why we need pacing. Perceived effort is a global sense of how hard you're working relative to your limit. You can put numbers on it, but it really is best just to think about it in more qualitative terms or in context specific ways. And so another one of the tools that I talk about in the book is what I call body scanning. There are body scanning meditations, like a type of mindfulness meditation. But when you run, you can just sort of like start from the, the crowd of your head and go all the way down to your toes and just check in and read it.
