The Navy Phages for Tom's Abscess
The process of isolating a phage requires the introduction of what are called endotoxins, something that sits on the outside of a bacteria. "I just wanted to have hurt him, and nothing happened," says Dr. Tom Schulder. The Navy phages showed up a couple of days later; he was down from three blood pressure medications to one.
