Are They Pleading the Fifth? Is It Directly Relevant to the Subpoena to Trump?

President Trump wanted to appoint Jeff Clark as acting Attorney General. As you can see in this call log, we obtained from the National Archives, he did so. He then goes on to reference the Justice Department's ongoing investigation. Is it directly relevant to them sending this subpoena to Trump that so many Trump people have been pleading the fifth? Are they showing us these guys pleading the fifth over and over again? Or is there a specific strategic or legal imperative that's driving them to basically tell us, hey, listen, we tried to get this information every other way from everyone around the former president. They're all taking the fifth. That's why we have no choice but to go to him.
