Marco: I had never done like a deep dive on this match but you know a lot of chess fans hear about this scandalous and never ending match again. What struck me is Timon really does a good job kind of going behind the scenes of all the negotiations and kind of debunking that also just from a logical perspective. Karpov it seems didn't want the match to end himself. He only needed to win one game and they when they scrapped it they announced were starting from scratch next year 24 games. So if they think that Karpov if they're worried he's the weaker player that's not really doing him any favors to start at 0-0 going to 12 wins
