I was blown away by Thomas Hood's poetry when I was 14. Do you want to become a poet or an academic? Well, I don't know. My poor father once asked me what I wanted to do and he gave the wrong answer. Because of course I wanted to be a film star. You recorded as tears go by was a huge hit. It's a lovely, lovely song. And it's unfortunate considering your long career you always considered like a muse to the rolling stones. But that wasn't really what I want.You were swept up into London at the time and you knew the old woman all that. Yep. That was my big comeback.
