Is NAC the Good Thing?
I'm wondering if there's like a time dependent factor with this whether if the patient gets their NAC sooner then they have better outcomes. So I guess from the point of the ambulance service being called and us seeing the patient is there a need for us to absolutely minimise on scene times and rush into hospital or can we carry out a good history, a good assessment and bring them in with a pre-alert as necessary? The honest answer is that there isn't this sudden precipitous decline in the efficacy of NAC that we know of. It just about seems that it's tipped to the balance of starting treatment seems to be a good thing.
