If you assert a falsehood and intended to see that's definitely a lie we can agree on that. Do we include do we include the intention to deceive in the notion of assertion or does false assertion become the means to deception? Is there a way to parse that out a little more precisely i think that uh... it sounds rather difficult yeah augustin has a really interesting treatment of this  and his line data dacio where he talks about what if i assert something false to somebody in order to get that person to believe the truth.
