A Third Party Introduces Us to Desire
The most direct example of a third party introducing us to the thing that we desire might also be one of the earliest examples. This is primarily because it is now made rare, special, or taboo. You should not do what you want, which makes you want it even more. In possessing the taboo object, well, that ends up leading to our expulsion, our expulsion from the garden. Once we desire something, we're actually forbidden to act upon it, which only amplifies our desire more.
