The Problem With Coverage of Civil Liberties
The way a lot of this tends to be covered is, who is the good guy and who is the bad guy? I don't care how you get A to B, but the bad guy should lose. And people don't pay nearly as much attention to the underlying issue because it's going towards young, struggling people with student loans. The expansion of liberty of your political opponents is also the expansion of liberty for you. This is how legal precedents work.
