The Disappearance of Autonomous Organizations of Young Men
By the end of the 19th century, such autonomous organizations of young men were fading away. You see this with sports and it's a real shame when I was a kid, you know, I get on my swing stingray. And there was a kind of joy in managing ourselves and participating and in refereeing or umpiring each other. Now that's largely gone. Everything is managed. Everything is controlled. Everything is coached. You don't have to learn on your own. For me it strikes back a lot of childhood.
