The Virtue of Obedience

Charity alone can place us in a state of perfection. Obedience, chastity and poverty are the three principal means for acquiring it. There are two kinds of obedience, one necessary and the other voluntary. Obey meekly without reply, readily without delay, cheerfully without complaint. And above all, obey lovingly, for the love of him who became obedient unto death even death on a cross.
