There is no significant source of revenue for the government that the government can rely on to continue to buy the allegiance of its supporters. The majority of public sector employees don't actually have jobs in any meaningful sense. They just get paid and the money just goes to their bank account. And it's been going on for decades. This is basically the real cancer that is destroying the economy here.
