The History of Unemployment

The German economy was susceptible to disruption, and not just domestic disruption. As soon as the crisis began hitting other nations, it would then hit Germany. By the middle of 1931 the government was forced to call for mandatory bank holidays. In terms of unemployment, it seemed to increase almost without end. Even in the relatively good periods during the mid to late 1920s there were still many Germans who were not employed.
