In the 1960s, Imagineers at Disneyland were thinking about creepy and old-fashioned things when they designed the Haunted Mansion. By the mid-20th century, the trick had ended up in the most lowbrow of places, a carnival sideshow called Gorilla. Add to the break, Pepper's Ghost becomes a breakout hit all over again.
