Yave Elohim and the Garden of Eden
J's God is not a supernatural cosmic force, but someone who rather likes gardening. A deity you would like to have a chat with over tea and watercress sandwiches. Long quote, Genesis 2.8. Yave Elohim planted a garden in Eden in the east. That's where he put the human, whom he had formed. The Hebrew word in verse 5, Adam, means human or mankind. In J's account, the problem is too little water, a world without rain.
