There is a debate regarding the dating of the book of Revelation. John was writing to a people who were in persecution. And he's revealing to them the power of worship that's happening in heaven. The seven seals, the seven trumpets and the seven bowls are all correlated with what Jesus Christ had prophesied would happen.
