Anarchism and the state are two different approaches to socioeconomic transformation. The Marxist view of change is that you need a top down power structure which can only be achieved by working slowly from the bottom up. An anarchist theory would see this as an opportunity for people to take control over their own destinies, rather than being ruled by others. In part two we'll talk more about how anarchism might contribute to our discussion on social ills.
