A lot of people do not understand the difference when he is being funny and when heis being serious. I call this the jack benny effect. In a country as politically polarized as we are to day, there simply isn't a constituency for emphasizing all the things in america which are going well. When democrats are in charge, republicans never look at the things which were going well, and are always looking atat the wrong stuff. So essentially there is no constituency for for emphasizing edei the not necessarily optimistic, just the real state of of American standards of living.

Is it true that the world’s rapidly growing population is consuming the planet’s natural resources at an alarming rate that would require two Earths to satisfy the demand for natural resources by 2030? Marian Tupy and Gale Pooley found that resources became more abundant as the population grew. They also found that resource abundance increased faster than the population. On average, every additional human being created more value than he or she consumed.
