Tico Braje, 1546 to 1601 was born into a powerful Danish aristocratic family. As a young man he started studying the heavens and is now regarded as one of the great figures in the history of astronomy. In 1572 his observations of a new star challenged the idea inherited from Aristotle that the heavens were unchanging. He's also remembered for his colourful life: His nose has cut off in a duel.
