What's the Subtlety of Panpsychism?

When we talk about the boundaries of things, I think we're using a language that always has to be taken to be somewhat provisional. And that, in a sense, starts with ourselves. If you're a system, then no system can completely characterize its own boundary. Because its own boundary is the place that it has to write its characterization on. So there's not enough room on the boundary to write a characterization of the entire boundary. We speak very informally and confidently about systems in science because otherwise our language would become so convoluted that we wouldn't be able to communicate.
