CHAPTER

The Three Constraints of Collaborative Behavior

Paul Waldman: I'd like to hear you speak a little bit about concretely these three constraints that you discuss in this piece, patchiness and space and time, operating costs, and threat of rupture. These seem like three really good variables for anyone designing a system to bear in mind when they're designing the behavioral properties of that system. And like so much was coming up from me reading this. So yeah, just talking a little bitabout that seems like a good point of entry to start trying to make some analogical leaps here. The analogies would be in how collective behavior works.
